New details
Other shocking details have been revealed by local authorities, where according to the investigative file, the girls' bodies were found with plastic bags over their heads and their hands tied.
A preliminary autopsy suggests the most likely cause of death was asphyxiation. US media, including the New York Post, report that the girls were wearing the same clothes they were wearing on Friday when they were reported missing.
Paityn Decker (9 years old), Evelyn Decker (8 years old) and Olivia Decker (5 years old) were found without signs of life on Monday, June 2, after a meeting with their father.
That day, Travis Decker took the girls on a routine visitation, as agreed upon with their mother, but failed to return them at the time the two ex-partners had agreed upon. As a result, a warrant was issued for his arrest for violation of custody.
Investigators later located his vehicle and uncovered the crime scene. Two palm-shaped bloodstains were also found in the back of the van, while data from the 32-year-old's phone shows that on Saturday he was in the exact area where the bodies of the deceased were later found.
He has been declared wanted, while authorities are also asking for the help of citizens to make his capture possible.
