Taylor Swift and Blake Lively have made some strides toward improving their relationship, but sources close to the pair say their friendship "isn't what it used to be."
The pair, who were once very close, no longer spend as much time together as they used to. According to sources for People magazine, “Taylor is trying to rebuild trust with Blake, but it will take time.”
Their friendship dates back to 2015 and they have appeared together many times.
The situation changed notably due to Taylor Swift's involvement in Lively's legal battle with director and actor Justin Baldoni, with whom she collaborated on the film "It Ends With Us," based on the novel of the same name by Colleen Hoover.
In December 2024, Lively filed charges against Baldoni for sexual harassment during filming and for a smear campaign aimed at damaging her image.
Less than two weeks later, she formally sued Baldoni for sexual harassment, breach of contract, emotional distress, and invasion of privacy.
Baldoni denied all allegations and filed a countersuit for defamation and blackmail against Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds and their PR team.
In his counterclaim, Baldoni also named Taylor Swift, saying she was present at a meeting at Blake's home where they discussed changes to the film's script. He claims Lively referred to Swift and Reynolds as "dragons" protecting her, in order to threaten her into accepting changes to the script that Blake had proposed.
The trial between them is scheduled for March 2026 and will include both lawsuits, the one filed by Lively and Baldoni's counterclaim.
