Blake Lively has decided to drop some of her accusations against actor and director Justin Baldoni, according to recent court documents.
In the midst of their ongoing legal battle, which stemmed from conflicts created during the filming of the film "It Ends with Us," Lively filed a motion on June 2 to drop the emotional distress charges.
Baldoni's attorney, Kevin Fritz, previously submitted a letter to the jury requesting that Lively's emotional damages be assessed by specialists. But instead of cooperating, Lively has chosen to withdraw such allegations.
This action, according to the director's lawyers, shows that she does not want to reveal information and documents that could refute the allegations.
Lively's lawyers, Esra Hudson and Mike Gottlieb, responded in a statement to People magazine , saying:
“Once again, the other side is using a routine step of the legal process as a ploy to create a media frenzy. We are doing what lawyers do: preparing for trial by focusing and concentrating the case. They are doing what they know how to do: desperately seeking media attention.”
Lively's lawsuit also includes allegations of sexual harassment and defamation.
The feud between the two actors began in December of last year, when Lively sued Baldoni for sexual harassment and a smear campaign aimed at tarnishing her image. Baldoni has denied the allegations and in January 2025 filed a lawsuit against Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds and their PR team, accusing them of blackmail, defamation and other charges.
In the initial documents, Lively claimed that Baldoni's behavior during and after filming was emotionally taxing, not only on her, but also on her husband and four children.
