He revealed that he cheated on her: Hugh Jackman is reportedly disappointed by

Hugh Jackman has reportedly been caught off guard by his ex-wife Deborra-Lee Furness's public statement to People. In an exclusive interview, she said the actor had cheated on her, breaking a two-year silence following the end of their marriage.

Deborra-Lee, 69, revealed that she had experienced a traumatic experience after the betrayal, which led to an amicable divorce between the couple. She said that she has reflected on the end of a marriage that lasted almost 3 decades. Her statement caught Jackman, 56, off guard.

According to a source for The Daily Mail, he was “extremely disappointed by his ex-wife’s comments.” The anonymous person claimed that “there was an unwritten agreement between them that she would not denigrate the actor in the media” and Hugh “knows that he can’t change anything.”

Furness and Jackman met on the set of an Australian series in 1995 and married the following year. When the former couple, who have two children together, announced their split in a joint statement in September 2023, they stressed that “we have decided to separate to pursue individual growth” after a “wonderful and loving marriage.” They stressed at the time that this was the first and last statement they would make on the matter.

In early January, Jackman was photographed in California holding hands with his former “The Music Man” co-star, Sutton Foster. Foster, 50, has begun divorce proceedings in October 2024 from her husband, Ted Griffin, after 10 years of marriage.

While Deborra-Lee said during her interview that her support goes to all people who have gone through the traumatic journey of betrayal, but on the other hand, she expressed gratitude for her experience.

"We all make our own individual journeys and I believe that the relationships in our lives are not coincidences. We are drawn to people, we invite them inside (our hearts), to learn our lessons and to recognize and heal the broken parts within ourselves... I remain grateful," the actress said.
