Brigitte Macron wasn't kidding when she pushed her husband, President Emmanuel Macron, in the face, even though he was trying to convince us it was just a joke.
Judi James, a body language expert, analyzed the tense moment that went viral and told the Daily Mail that there was no "joke" in it.
"I didn't see any shared laughter, smiles or any joking after that push," she said. "Instead, Macron seemed confused and touched his face, as if to check if he was okay."
The expert stressed that the way Brigitte pushed Macron was "very strong and shocking" - so much so that he struggled to keep his balance and seemed to receive a second push at the end.
“This should not be normalized as a 'game' just to save political image,” she added.
After the incident, the couple were not seen making any physical contact and walked side by side without touching. Macron tried to calm the situation by saying that the media was making it a "geo-planetary catastrophe" and that they were "playing around" before the start of an official visit.
But the body language expert invites everyone to reflect:
"If the opposite had happened and he had pushed her, would we call this 'play'? No. So it shouldn't be called that even when it comes from a woman."
This unexpected event, which was recorded as the Macron couple landed in Hanoi for their official visit, sheds light on the complexity of the couple's relationship and shows that their behind-the-scenes lives are not always as peaceful as they appear to the public.
