Rapper Kid Cudi, Cassie's ex-boyfriend, will testify in the ongoing trial against P. Diddy, but not without first raising questions in court about his puppy.

Kid Cudi, now 41, has been called to testify about an alleged robbery at his home in 2011, allegedly orchestrated by P. Diddy. (At the time, Cudi was dating Cassie, during one of her breakups with Diddy.)

Diddy's lawyer asked that Kid Cudi not mention any trauma his dog may have suffered during the incident. He argued that he didn't want any "animal lovers on the jury" to be emotionally affected by the detail.

The judge, however, ruled that Kid Cudi would be allowed to mention the immediate impact the event had on the animal, without mentioning any alleged long-term consequences.

Diddy was arrested in September 2024 on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation for the purpose of prostitution. He has denied all charges to date.

His lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, said in a statement to the media:

"We are disappointed that a process that we consider unfair has been decided upon. Sean 'Diddy' Combs is a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, loving father and proven philanthropist. He is an imperfect man, but he is not a criminal."

Cassie, 38, testified earlier this month in court, claiming that Diddy threatened to blow up Kid Cudi's car when he found out about their relationship. (Cassie had also made these allegations in her 2023 lawsuit.)

She added:

"A lot of risk, a lot of uncertainty about what could happen if we continued the relationship," Cassie said, explaining why she ended her relationship with Cudi after the alleged threats.
