Ed Sheeran may have to send a card of apology along with his wedding gift to Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco. The singer inadvertently revealed a very specific detail about the couple's wedding — an event they themselves preferred to keep out of the public eye.
During a "Lie Detector Test" for Vanity Fair, Ed Sheeran was asked if he was invited to Selena and Benny's wedding. The answer was "yes," and he even said he had RSVP'd for himself and his wife, Cherry Seaborn.
So, Ed confirmed that Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco's wedding is planned and they have started sending out their invitations. So far, the couple had not confirmed any concrete plans for the ceremony. In their interviews, they hinted that they were in no rush to organize the wedding.
Selena and Benny got engaged in December 2024 and have been tight-lipped about their wedding ever since. In a joint interview with Rolling Stone ahead of their album's release, they revealed they're in no rush for the ceremony.
“I think every day she plans a new wedding in her mind,” Benny told the magazine. “We’re the type of people who take life one day at a time. We still haven’t fully digested this moment. While you were talking, she was there looking at the ring.”
While Selena herself added:
“Honestly, I feel like this is such a special moment and I want to fully reflect that on this album — to pour out everything we feel and share it with the world. That’s my main focus right now, at least.”
Ed Sheeran has known the couple for years: he and Selena are close to Taylor Swift, while Benny was part of Ed's very private wedding in 2018. Despite their closeness, we don't know how happy the young couple will be about this discovery their friend inadvertently made.
