Get ready! A series about Madonna's life and career is coming!

The life of the 'queen of pop' will touch the screen! Madonna's collaboration with Netflix has been officially confirmed, to create a biographical series, which will show the life and career of the star Madonna. The singer will be the executive producer of the series, along with Shawn Levy, the director of "Stranger Things".

According to Deadline, Madonna and Levy have been discussing the project "for a long time," but are still in the initial stages of development. Thus, it remains unknown which period of Madonna's life and career the series will focus on.

The duo is said to be "starting from scratch," as this series is completely separate from the biographical film that Madonna was developing with Universal Pictures in 2022. The film was discontinued after she announced the "Celebration" tour in 2023. In July 2024, she showed that the film project had returned, publishing a video on Instagram where she was working on a script. But, it seems the project was canceled and Madonna posted a question to her followers on Instagram.

"I haven't had a normal life. I can't do this the normal way. Should I make my life story a series or a feature film?"

Since it's already been confirmed that her life will be told in the series, the movie probably won't happen.

Who will play Madonna?

Since the story hasn't been decided yet, the casting for the series hasn't been confirmed either. However, Deadline reports that Julia Garner, Madonna's alleged choice for the film, "will most likely play Madonna," depending on her availability. Garner has been in contact with Madonna's team, even joining her on stage as a "judge" for the "Vogue" performances during the "Celebration" tour.

Garner reportedly won the role against several young actresses, including Florence Pugh, Alexa Demie, Odessa Young, Emma Laird, Bebe Rexha, and Sky Ferreira, who underwent a rigorous audition process that many have dubbed "Madonna Boot Camp."

Madonna has yet to confirm whether she will be directing or writing the new series.
