Rapper Tory Lanez was stabbed 14 times in the face, back, torso and head while serving his sentence in a California prison.

"Tory was stabbed 14 times — including 7 wounds to the back, 4 to the torso, 2 to the back of the head, and 1 to the left side of the face," his team confirmed in an Instagram post yesterday (May 12, 2025).

The statement further states that his lungs collapsed and doctors put him on a ventilator.
 
The rapper — who is serving a 10-year sentence for stabbing Megan Thee Stallion in the leg — was in the yard of the CCI prison in Tehachapi, California, on Monday morning when another inmate stabbed him, TMZ first reported. The outlet did not give a motive for the attack, but said it was serious enough to require immediate medical attention.
 
Lanez, 32, was taken by ambulance to a civilian hospital near Bakersfield.

 
According to the statement, Lanez is now breathing on his own and although he is still in pain, he is improving.

"He is speaking normally, in good spirits and extremely grateful to God that he is getting through this situation. He also wants to thank everyone for their prayers and continued support," the sources say.

In December 2022, Lanez was found guilty of shooting Megan in the leg in July 2020 after a party at Kylie Jenner's house. He was charged with three felonies: assault with a semi-automatic weapon; carrying a loaded and unregistered weapon in a vehicle; and use of a weapon causing grievous bodily harm.
 
Despite the conviction, Lanez's legal team has continued to maintain his innocence, saying they will consider appealing the verdict.
 
As for Megan, she obtained a restraining order against Lanez in January after she alleged he harassed her from prison.
 
"I think he's probably going to shoot me again and I'm probably not going to survive this time," the rapper, 30, said, describing her ex-partner as a "violent and dangerous criminal."
