The way the finalists from the Eurovision 2025 semi-finals will be announced may have been inadvertently revealed by Swiss public broadcaster SRF.
During the documentary “Der Weg zum ESC 2025” (“The Road to ESC 2025”), SRF appears to have shown the new format for announcing the songs that will qualify for the final. According to ESC Discord, one of the scenes in the documentary suggests that three countries will be put in the spotlight simultaneously and only one of them will be announced as a finalist.
This change has been rumored before, when Eurovision 2025 executive producers Reto Peritz and Moritz Stadler hinted at a new formula during an interview with The Euro Trip Podcast. They explained that the aim is to add “more excitement and more suspense” during the announcement moment.
The Eurovision Song Contest 2025 will be held in Basel, Switzerland, on May 13 - 17. "Shkodra Elektronike" performs on the first semi-final night.
