Do you eat something after sex? Experts explain the psychological meaning

Sex is mostly a fantastic experience, but have you ever tried eating a hamburger after an orgasm? If so, you might be surprised to learn that your post-sex food choice can say a lot about you.

Whether you crave something sweet or reach for a bag of chips in your kitchen, what you choose to eat after sex could be a reflection of your soul. That's because it's your subconscious speaking out.

Relationship expert Nicole Moore also says you can tell a lot from what someone consumes after sex. "After sex, people are more relaxed and authentic, and what they choose to eat can say a lot about their character," she adds.

If you like to enjoy a snack after sex with your partner, then this article is for you. Here's what experts can tell us about what you choose to eat after an intimate session.

Salty foods

If you eat something salty after sex – like chips, nuts or cookies – and it's not related to your nervousness about what just happened, you may be a practical and efficient person, and you may even be ready for another round, says Frankie Bashan, a psychologist.

Nicole Moore adds that if you're eating chips after sex, it shows you're not very emotional. "You feel more comfortable keeping things on a simpler level," she says.

Sweet

If you crave ice cream after sex, you may be a person who is very emotional – both during sex and in your daily life.

"For you, emotionally connected sex is very important, and you may prefer relationships where you are so connected to your partner that you feel like close friends," says Moore. Sweet ones may indicate that you prefer to form a deep, loving connection.

Fast Food

If this is your choice, you can be very comfortable with yourself. "You're not worried about making a good impression or being judged," says Dr. Bashan.

"You're straightforward and don't take yourself too seriously." On a relationship level, it can be a sign that you enjoy moments that make you feel good and aren't afraid to pursue the pleasures that are offered to you.

Breakfast foods

If you like to eat cornflakes , pancakes, or something else for breakfast after sex, this may indicate a nostalgic nature and a connection to childhood.

"Regardless of age, you can have a youthful energy and a timeless sense of freshness about life," says Moore. If you crave breakfast foods after sex, it could be a sign that you prefer morning sex and are more warm, caring, and loving in your relationship.

Hydrating liquid

If you drink fluids right after sex, you probably see sex as a sport and may be ready for more rounds.

"You enjoy sex with variety and are probably always looking for change, avoiding routine," says Moore. Outside of the bedroom, you may be a health-focused person.

"You're focused on regeneration and health, taking care of your partner's needs as much as your own," says Dr. Bashan.

Ultimately, your choice of food after sex can say a lot about you – and maybe, the next time you have a snack after an intimate session, you can think about what this food is saying about your personality!
