Exciting story: Ermal Meta confesses for the first time that he adopted 2 girls

Ermal Meta, in an interview for Vanity Fair, shared an emotional story, where he confessed that he is also the father of two girls, whom he adopted from an orphanage in Albania. Ermal started the story by saying that he was very afraid of becoming a father, because he did not want to be like his father.

"For years I thought I didn't want children because I was afraid I would become like my father. I didn't want to reproduce that model," the singer said.

He further revealed that together with his partner, they have met 2 girls and they will soon join their family in Italy.

"My partner, Chiara, and I will soon be bringing our other two daughters with us, who have been in an orphanage in Albania. We met them when they were 15, but because we are not married, we could not adopt them. They will turn 18 in June and they will be able to come live with us. But, I tell you, they have been our daughters for three years. I have never talked about this before..."

He also shared how he felt without the presence of the two girls, saying:

"One summer, the girls left to stay with other families for a few weeks. When they left, Chiara and I were left in total silence. They made a lot of noise when they were there, and suddenly everything went silent. I started crying like a baby, I couldn't stop. I locked myself in the bathroom because I was in pain."

Ermali paused for a few moments to tell a beautiful and meaningful story with one of the girls, who is a closed type:

"One of the two girls, the more withdrawn one, refused to accept any contact at all. With Chiara it was a little better, with me – not at all. I immediately understood what trauma she had. When we broke up, she left the house… and then came back. I asked her: 'Did you forget something?'. 'No', she said. 'Then why did you come back?'. And at that moment, without saying anything, she put my head here (points to her chest – and gets emotional). There I became her father."

He also confessed that because he and Chiara are not married, girls cannot be adopted when they are under 18. However, Ermali said a very beautiful expression, which everyone should read: "It is not civil status that makes you a good parent, but love."

"We followed the advice of the nun who took care of them. The girls have finished high school in Albania, and now that they are adults, they will be able to live with us," he also said.

Ermali also spoke with great love about his biological daughter, also showing the mixed emotions when he received the news that Chiara was expecting with Fortuna and then, how their daughters reacted when they were informed:

"When we told the girls that Chiara was pregnant, they looked at each other... I immediately assured them: 'Nothing changes. You will have an extra sister,'" said Ermali.

"They were trying to show joy, but I understand... in the orphanage, when couples come, the older girls always sit in a corner, because they know that no one chooses them. They had told me themselves: 'No one loves the older ones.'" And I instinctively replied: "Yes, I love you."

Ermali also said that the house and rooms are ready for the girls from Albania, concluding: "There is a lot of love waiting for them."
