Tinka Kurti at the nursing home: The director of the center speaks

In a surprise appearance, legendary Albanian cinematographic actress Tinka Kurti appeared in a video message on "Big Brother VIP" revealing that she currently lives in a nursing home. This shocked public opinion and sparked a wave of reactions on social networks and the media.

"I had a lot of problems, but I had this other fate that I came to this house, which is a miracle. For me it was a tragedy and I wanted to leave as soon as possible," said Tinka Kurti, referring to the pain of losing her only son. However, she stressed that the environment where she is currently located has helped her find peace: "There are wonderful people here, there is a very beautiful life."

These words sparked a broad public debate on the treatment of prominent national figures, as well as on the care that the state and local institutions provide to the elderly.

On the show "Invitation to Five", Bieta Sulo contacted the director of the center where the actress is located via a phone call. Her question was direct: "Did she get the treatment she deserved? To your knowledge, did she get the proper treatment from the municipality to have personal care and did she herself choose to come to the nursing home?"

"Yes, it is very true. I was contacted by the social services of the Municipality of Tirana and we met to discuss the possibilities and types of services and Tinka chose to come to the nursing home," she emphasized.

Tinka Kurti's case has opened a window for a broader discussion on the role of the state in supporting elderly artists, on the forms of care provided for them, and on the way Albanian society deals with aging and loneliness.

In the end, what matters most is not the physical location of a public figure, but the peace of mind and dignity with which they live out their final years. Should our icons live solely for the sake of public status, or do they deserve to choose for themselves how they want to live? Tinka Kurti has made a choice that speaks volumes: a place where she feels at peace, respected, and among people who care about her. And perhaps, this is the highest form of dignity.
