The “Big Brother VIP” formula foresees that some of the most prominent residents will have the opportunity to return to the game, even after the first elimination. This practice has also been followed in Albania, but in all cases there is one thing in common: returns do not work. Names like Efi, Kiara, Ronaldo, Amber and G Bani have made us think that returning to the house is not a good option for those who leave once.
Why does this happen?
Disconnection from the game and dynamics
One of the main reasons is that the game moves at a fast pace and every second counts. After being removed from the race, the return requires a well-thought-out strategy so that the character who is re-entering can "overturn" the dynamics and bring a radical change to the game. This strategy has been lacking so far, as the characters who have returned have not been able to surprise us. In addition, the residents who are at home see the return as unfair, especially when they "smell" that the character who is being re-entered is gaining ground, so they will do everything to prevent him from becoming the protagonist.
To make it more concrete, it is enough to mention the case of Gerta, who chose to lead to a difficult nomination for Amber with the argument that she sees her as a strong player and consequently kicked her out of the house.
The influence of outside comments
Everyone thinks that understanding what is happening outside and how the game is being commented on is the biggest benefit for a player, as it can help in building the right strategy, but that's not the case. Reading the comments gives you a clear picture of the impact that your every action has, which makes it difficult to behave naturally, as you constantly think about how you will be commented on. On the other hand, characters who realize that they have been favored by the public during their stay at "BBVA", seem to also create a kind of self-confidence that without realizing it turns into arrogance.
Let's say that the case of Kiara is similar, who as soon as she was reintroduced started saying phrases to the residents like "I'm a lioness" or "Do you know who you're talking to", which she had never used before and the result: the public "condemned her".
Friends turn into enemies
Return may create a sense of competition and tension among residents who are already consolidated into groups or alliances.
Entering the competition for the second time seems to send a signal to the residents who are inside: the public loves the characters who have returned and wants to see them play. This is not well received by the residents who have been fighting for the love of the public for a long time, so we see even friends turning into enemies. If until yesterday they stood by each other, the moment they realize that the character who enters has the potential to be the protagonist, they will be put in front of them.
In this case, the case of Gerta can also be mentioned, who before Amber was eliminated were very close friends, but the return caused them to lose their friendship.
Loss of alliances
The returning residents find it difficult to integrate into the game, as groups or alliances have consolidated to the point where it is extremely difficult to find a “seat at the table”. So in this case they find themselves alone in the race, without any allies to protect them or without any real strategy that can be built in the group. The only solution remains to fight alone against everyone, but even this is a toxic and exhausting option, both for the returning characters and for the audience.
The only case that we can say that somehow turned things around in the house was Efi, who managed to create another pole by opposing Luiz. But it should not be forgotten that she was able to create this dynamic and reach the final, only after Olta left.
They return as fans of the residents
The characters who are reintroduced know exactly who the audience applauds the most and prefer to build the game by creating an alliance with them. It seems like they are trying to re-enter the game more easily in this form, but what is perceived by the audience is not at all nice, as they are immediately classified as fans of the favorite character, which does not help their strategy at all.
In summary, the comebacks on "Big Brother VIP" often face great challenges and ultimately bring nothing new to the game and the audience, so the question arises: Are the comebacks really necessary?
