Andis Harasani, former director of KESH and former Socialist Party MP for two terms, has passed away at the age of 54 after a serious illness, which he had been battling for two years.
The news was announced by his wife, who shared this loss through a post on social media.
“Dear family and friends, it is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend, Andis Harasani,” she wrote. “Our Andis faced this challenge with the strength, determination and faith that have always characterized him. He fought hard for us and never stopped giving us love, support and strength. Unfortunately, we lost the battle with cancer. Thea, Henry and I will always be grateful for our journey together.”
After leaving politics in 2013, when Edi Rama came to power, Harasani moved with his family to the United States. Although he distanced himself from active political life, he remained a prominent voice on social media, often appearing as a critic of Rama's government.
