January's Full Moon Can Make You Scream!

Known as the "Wolf Moon," this month's moon will reach peak fullness on January 13, marking the first full moon of 2025.

While this astronomical event is sure to dazzle the night sky with its radiant glow, it also carries additional astrological significance as it rises in Cancer this year. While all lunar phases electrify the cosmos, the effects of the full moon are particularly strong.

"These periods tend to represent turning points, climaxes, endings, or awakenings," says celebrity astrologer Kyle Thomas of the days before and after peak full moons. Emotions can run high at these times.

Aries

Home is where the heart is, Aries. "An emotional shift around a domestic issue could be imminent for you," predicts Thomas.

"Some may receive unexpected news that causes a change in the way you have handled a family, home or real estate matter. You may be asked to step in to help a parent or a relative, but the situation it can end up being quite frustrating and you have to get over it,” he says.

If you have the sudden urge to move or redecorate your home, Thomas has good news! "You may suddenly be able to experience a sense of joy when you transform your living space," he says.

Taurus

If you've been working on a project, Taurus, expect to reach a major turning point. Thomas predicts that you can focus your attention on "a writing, speaking, advertising or social media initiative."

As you try to organize all of this, he says "you can make a lot of progress" — however, he says "you can be quite emotional about how it's all coming together" at the same time.

Elsewhere in his prediction, Thomas says a major contract could "pop up around this time" and "you might feel a little bit compelled to sign it." He advises a "delay" if you can, despite the fact that it feels like it's "imposing itself on you".

Gemini

"A big financial issue is coming your way," predicts Thomas, who notes that "it may seem like a bigger expense than you'd prefer to incur."

On the other hand, however, this moon's energy could push you to do the opposite. If there's distance or disconnect, he says, "you might revisit the details or even decide it's time to file for divorce and pursue a resolution."

Elsewhere in Thomas' forecast, he says your focus may be on "a big money issue."

Capricorn

Take a good look at your partnerships, Capricorn. Thomas says to ask yourself, "Are you on the same page with each other, or are you just drifting apart?"

Emotions can feel "especially intense" around January's full moon, as he calls this period a "break" for your relationships. Perhaps you may have a "transformational discovery" to get closer, such as getting together or getting married.

On the other hand, if there's friction between you and your partner, Thomas predicts a "dramatic episode" could occur that could "tear you apart like blown leaves," he says.

Aquarius

Get ready to get down to business, Aquarius! "You may be quite busy putting the finishing touches on a hire or work-related project around this time," says Thomas.

If you're looking for a new job or looking to take on more responsibility in your current role, he says this ploy could give you the go-ahead. You may also find yourself “re-evaluating” your work-life balance—or rather, analyzing your health and fitness plans.

Finally, Thomas says you could experience a "difficult time" near this full moon.

Pisces

Love is in the air, Pisces! "Let loose and have some fun," says Thomas.

At the same time, however, he warns that this change could "create some power struggles" or "tension" between you and your romantic partner (or even a friend, too). "Your partner may not see your relationship the same way or have ulterior motives," he says.

On the bright side, if you have an open heart, Thomas says you can "move past the drama" and instead "focus on your true desires." If you are single, he predicts that you may find someone new "through your circle" at this time.
