A massive fire in the Los Angeles area has forced over 30,000 residents to evacuate, including several high-profile celebrities such as Paris Hilton, Mandy Moore, Tom Hanks, Jennifer Aniston and James Woods. Among those affected is the Hollywood actor Ben Affleck, whose luxury suite fell victim to the merciless flames.
The fire, which has destroyed nearly 3,000 acres of land, left Affleck's $20 million mansion in Pacific Palisades in ruins. Witnessing the fire closer to his property, the Pearl Harbor star immediately evacuated, seeking shelter at the home of his ex-partner, Jennifer Garner.
Garner's home, located just a stone's throw from Affleck's, has so far remained safe from the advancing fire. It's unclear whether Affleck went to Garner's residence to stay or just to check on her and their three children.
Affleck, 52, looked visibly distraught as he watched his bachelor pad burn to ashes. He had been living in the property since moving out of the $68 million home he previously shared with ex-wife Jennifer Lopez.
Reports indicate that while Garner's residence has yet to be affected, the raging fire continues to threaten many high-value properties in the area. Other celebrities have also been forced to leave their luxury mansions after the flames spread. The massive fire has already reduced many homes to rubble, leaving a trail of massive destruction in its wake.
Authorities are working tirelessly to control the fire, but its rapid spread has many residents fearing the worst. The fire has devastated the Pacific Palisades area and other parts of the west side of LA, an area known for its famous residents, including Steven Spielberg, Reese Witherspoon, Mark Hamill, Jamie Lee Curtis, Eugene Levy and many others.
