Fans of Jessica Alba and Cash Warren's relationship were shocked on January 8 when news broke that the couple, after nearly 17 years of marriage, were headed for divorce.
TMZ broke the news, stating that their sources explained that the couple recently separated and are now going through a divorce.
While Warren and Alba's split feels sudden, the good news is that the former couple are still "friends and all about the kids" despite their split, a source told People after the divorce news broke.
Their divorce is said to have been amicable, according to the paper's source — "Regardless of what's going on now, it looks like they're going to stay close," the insider explained. And don't expect any drama from the actress and the film's producer in the future. "If they're filing for divorce, it's not because of any hate drama. They still seem happy together," the source added.
So why did Alba and Warren break up? The source revealed that the couple just lost the magic between them, with the source pointing out that "Jess has mentioned over the years that it's hard to keep the spark going."
The "Honey" actress recently explained that marriage can be difficult after getting out of the honeymoon phase during her April 2024 appearance on Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt's BDA Baby podcast. "Everything is rosy for 2.5 years, but then after that, you become roommates," she said.
The former couple met in 2004 on the set of Fantastic Four and later married in 2008. During their marriage, they welcomed three children: daughters Honor, 16, and Haven, 13, and son Hayes, 7.
