Nikki Glaser, the comedian who presented the Golden Globes 2025, revealed that she was paid less than a Golden Globes presenter who came before her.
Speaking to Howard Stern (via People ), Nikki said she would have hosted the show "for free" and noted "I got paid pretty [well]. There was a past host who said how much he was paid in his monologue and I found out I got less than that, but that's okay, I'll get more next year.”
She was referring to Jerrod Carmichael, who hosted the Golden Globes in 2023, and hinted that he received $500,000 for his work.
So how does this compare to other award shows? Honestly, the Golden Globes seem to charge way more than the going rate for hosting of this nature. So that's a plus!
According to Forbes, Grammy hosts make around $20,000, Tony Awards hosts make even less at $2,700 per person (that's Page Six reporting in 2016, so let's hope things have improved), and the Oscars fall somewhere in the middle.
In 2013, The Hollywood Reporter claimed that the presenter's salary was $15,000-$25,000, although Jimmy Kimmel revealed that he was paid $15,000. And he noted that "It seems like a lot for one night, but there are months of work that lead to this salary."
However. Either way, Nikki denied it, so let's hope she gets to host again next year — and get a raise, like she wanted.
