The Prosecutor's Office of Tirana has asked the court to sentence Leka Zogu to 1 year and 6 months in prison, but to convert the prison sentence to probation, after the violence against his ex-wife Elia Zaharia and her father.

Likewise, 6 months of imprisonment was requested for Elia Zaharija and at the same time the suspension of this sentence and probation for 6 months.

For her father, Gjergj Zaharia, the prosecution asked the court to sentence him to 1 year in prison and in the end to suspend this sentence and put him on probation for 12 months.

The hearing for announcing the decision is expected to be held on December 13.

The investigations started after the publication of a video that was filmed by Leka Zogu where he is seen being raped by his wife and her father, but also the report to the prosecutor's office for domestic violence.

The conflict took place in March this year at the residence of the royal family.

In his testimony, Prince Leka said that the conflict had first started with insults and then ended in violence. On the other hand, father and daughter said that they are also victims of violence.

Forensic expertise has found traces of violence in the three persons involved.

In April of this year, the Court of Tirana decided to dissolve the marriage between Leka Zogu and Elia Zaharia. The divorce between the couple was done with the consent of both parties.
