The head of the parliamentary group of the Vetëvendosje Movement in Kosovo, Mimoza Kusari-Lila, has announced that she underwent surgery after being diagnosed with breast cancer recently.
By sharing her story with others through social media, she has encouraged all women to do routine check-ups to avoid late detection of this disease.

"To all girls and women who have not had a breast exam during October Breast Cancer Awareness Month, PLEASE do it as soon as possible. Routine check-ups can be done in family medicine centers, in regional hospitals and in all places where mammography is offered," said Kusari-Lila in her post, encouraging all other women to undergo occasional check-ups.
The MP has shown that fortunately she managed to discover her illness at an early stage and that the treatment was easier for this reason.
"Early detection saves lives, while delays in early detection and identification can have much more serious consequences," she continued.
Last month, October, known as Pink Month, marked Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
