A cry in the shower can be something therapeutic, or something otherwise called an "emotional shower". Many hotels or resorts in the world are offering this service by combining thermotherapy, hydrotherapy, chromotherapy and aromatherapy, to excite customers more.
Treatments use water pressures, temperatures, colors and scents to induce a positive emotional state of calm or joy.
"I immediately felt calm and energized," Maria Yogoda told Condé Traveler magazine, describing her experience in an emotional shower in Lake Como, Italy.
Thermotherapy and hydrotherapy can provide localized relief to different parts of the body by using water to stimulate the metabolism, nervous system and blood flow.
"When we're in the shower, it's an opportunity to get away from the distractions of everyday life," says neuropsychologist Georgina Sturmer. "In a world where we are busy 24 hours a day, seven days a week, a shower can be one of the few places where we are alone."
"This sense of privacy and connection can help us feel comfortable connecting with our emotions," she added.
So whether you're taking a shower in a hotel or even at home, you should know that this is a safe way to relax and reconnect with yourself.
