Egyptian wrestler Mohamed 'Kesho' Ibrahim was arrested in Paris, after allegedly committing a sexual assault. He was representing Egypt at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The attack is alleged to have taken place on August 9, around 5:00 am.
"On August 9, around 5:00 a.m., a man born in March 1998 in Egypt, who was a wrestler on the Olympic delegation, was arrested in front of the Oz cafe," the Paris prosecutor's office wrote in its statement. He allegedly touched another person's rear in the cafe.
Ibrahim won a bronze medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and will be investigated by the ethics committee. The wrestler could face a lifetime ban from the committee.
"If the allegations are proven, the wrestler will face a permanent suspension and will be banned from participating in domestic and international competitions," the announcement states.
