Agim Doçi passes away

The poet and lyricist Agim Doçi has passed away at the age of 76, after suffering a cerebral hemorrhage. Various sources say that he was in intensive care and in critical condition since Saturday, when he was taken to the hospital.

Friends and family members of the well-known poet have announced his loss.

Agim Doçi was born on May 9, 1948. He completed high school in Shkodër and then higher studies in Tirana, at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering. Doçi, although known as a poet and lyricist, also worked as an engineer in Industrial Assemblies.

He is the author of many poems and texts of Albanian songs. He has written over 100 songs for Kosovo, among the most famous of which are "Is innocence killed" and "March of the KLA". Agim Doçi has been awarded over 50 prizes and the songs with his lyrics have represented Albania twice in the Eurovision contest.
