Switzerland won first place in the Eurovision Song Contest, topping the list with 591 points from the audience and the jury of this music competition. This year's edition, more than the music and the artists who took to the stage, evoked many reactions for the performances and incidents behind the scenes. Meanwhile, Israel's performance was met with many protests and applause.

Nemo, this year's winning artist after receiving the award said: "I hope this competition fulfills its promise and continues to support peace and dignity for every human being." The singer did not hide the incident that happened to him on stage, breaking his trophy.

"I broke the 'code' by waving my flag at the event, while Eurovision had banned me from doing so. Also, I broke the trophy, but that can be repaired. Maybe even Eurovision needs...repairs from time to time," he said.

This is the third victory for Switzerland, which previously won the Eurovision edition in 1956 and in 1988 with Celine Dion.

This year's Eurovision has aroused quite a few reactions, also due to the participation of Israel in this musical event, in the middle of the war in the Gaza Strip. Thousands of protesters took to the streets of Malmö with Palestinian flags, while the cries: "You support genocide" and "Freedom in Palestine" were heard.

On the other hand, Dutch artist Joost Klein was excluded from the Eurovision 2024 competition, due to an incident that happened backstage. According to the Swedish police, he intimidated a member of the production and was sent home, from where the artist made a reaction.

This 68th edition of Eurovision seems to be remembered more for the scandals and developments than for the artistic trends on stage.
