While the media is still digging to understand if Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly are together, in one of her last interviews, the actress talked about the "isolation mechanism", born in her as a way to resist the traumas of physical and psychological violence of men.
During the interview on "Call Her Daddy", Megan, who was abused by her stepfather, recalled the first time she was beaten by a man, commenting: "When it happens, you freeze, but at the same time you have to calm him down and show that everything will be fine".
Megan Fox explained that after being the victim of physical and verbal abuse from an ex-partner (whose identity she did not reveal), her brain learned to protect itself by putting it into isolation.
"Unfortunately, people get used to violence and there comes a time when the brain tries to isolate itself and normalize what is happening in order to survive," she said.
But what does it mean to isolate emotions like Fox?
Psychologists point out that it is in human nature to survive, so no matter how dire a situation is, the brain always protects itself.
When experiencing danger that involves strong emotions, the brain is likely to freeze as a defense. Such a mechanism allows you to focus on the tasks of everyday life. Thus the traumatic memory is hidden somewhere to be covered by the focus on other experiences.
The sole purpose of this form of isolation is to protect the individual from strong emotions during and after the moment of trauma. This mechanism is built especially in people who are victims continuously.
Its risks are numerous and start from the inability to distinguish and recognize emotions, to complex personality transformations.
The solution for it is always consultation with a specialist and therapy!
