Why do some people call their parents "mom" & "dad" and

In last night's prime of "BBVA 3", Franceska met her mother and apart from the emotions they conveyed, we were impressed by the fact that the resident addressed her mother as "Mama Albana". Based on this, we did some research on some of the reasons why some people call their parents "mom" and "dad", while others call them by their first name.

Some of the possible reasons are:

Family culture and norms

How we call our parents is also related to culture and family background. This may depend on the established relationship, the age of the parents, or the history, that is, the way the children have addressed their parents since childhood.

Parental preference

Some parents may want their children to address them by name, to break stereotypes, or to build a friendly relationship with the children.

Attitude among adults

A child who grows up among adults can call his parents by name, because that's how he's been taught. Adults address each other by name, in ordinary cases, and thus, children are "taught" to address their parents in the way adults address them.

Relationship between family members and personal choices

In many cases, parents and children build such a relationship that they call each other by their full names, or by a specific nickname, thus avoiding the use of the words "mom" and "dad". On the other hand, it can be totally a personal choice, depending on the boundaries, relationship and desire of how people want to address their parents, based on independence and relationship dynamics.

The breakdown of a relationship and reconciliation

In certain situations, it may happen that parents and children have a break in their relationship, and when they reconcile, they may have left behind the labels "mom" and "dad".

The parents may not be the biological parents

In some cases when the parents are adoptive, they choose to call their parents by their names, depending on the relationship and mutual desire.

The use of parents' names or roles such as "mom" and "dad", depends on the nature of the relationship and depends on each person's personal choices.
