Oatzempic is the latest slimming trend making the rounds on TikTok. The name, of course, has something to do with ozempic, the drug that was also used by many famous names to reduce excess pounds.

Oatzempic is related to oats and if the trend is followed carefully you can lose up to 40 kilos in two months.

What is oatzempic?

Oatzempic is a simple drink mixed with ½ cup rolled oats, 1 cup water, a pinch of cinnamon and a squeeze of lime juice. This drink regulates blood sugar and reduces appetite, thus leading to weight loss.

Can oats help you lose weight?

People on TikTok are drinking #oatzempic to lose weight because they have their wedding day coming up, or they want that typical summer body very soon. Some drink it every day and claim it keeps them full, which is not surprising given the fiber in oats. Research shows that the beta-glucan fiber found in oats has a positive effect on the hormones that regulate hunger and appetite.

Oatzempic has about 140 calories, less than most people eat in a day. As a result, drinking oatmeal as a meal replacement results in a calorie deficit and can cause weight loss.

As appealing as rapid weight loss sounds, no drink or food can magically help you shed pounds. Weight loss also depends on small changes in diet and exercise in the gym or in nature over time.
