What is the POSEC method?
This method, starting from the name itself, has to do with prioritization, organization, segmentation or sharing of time, economizing it in the right way and the contribution you make in this whole process. There is no precise and ordered list of where you should start, but with POSEC you understand the concrete things you need to take care of, but your goal should always be to get them done.
How to use this method in time management?
- Priorities
The first principle of POSEC is prioritization. Write down everything you need to do, such as: a work project, studying for a test, cleaning the house, or managing the children's after-school activities. Next, break down all the responsibilities into smaller pieces of paper and eliminate anything that seems really unnecessary.

This takes you to the second part of POSEC! Once you've written down all the priorities and listed them, the tasks for the day start to become apparent. Then make a narrower list of type: one major, three medium, and five minor tasks.
- Driving
When you switch to simplifying things, you may still engage in unimportant or unnecessary tasks. Just review them and decide to delegate tasks or responsibilities.
- Saving time
Then, save time by creating a schedule around everything left on the list. Use the time box, paying attention to each responsibility, from big to small. The goal is to create space during the day for things from the most mundane to the things that give you pleasure.
Contribution
Not only should you engage in activities that bring you some dopamine, but you should also do things that have value for the people around you. Volunteer, help a friend or answer your grandparent's email, there are plenty of commitments you can make. Valuable time spent on others is a kind of contribution to them, but also to yourself.
