A painting by The Beatles called "Image of a Woman" was sold for $1.7 million to a fan of the group. The painting was sold at the annual Christie's event in New York, while The Art Newspaper reported the news.

The painting was done in 1966 when the group was on tour in Japan. While they were isolated for security reasons in the presidential suite of the "Tokyo Hilton", among many gifts from fans, they also received a set of artistic materials.

The tour photographer managed to take a photo of the moment they sat down to paint. "They were lined up with 4 chairs around a table. Each had a corner of the painting and in the middle stood a lamp that gave light. Each of the artists was working from the center of the paper. It took two nights for them to finish it. As soon as they finished their concert performances, they ran to the paintings. I have never seen them so happy and relaxed", their photographer Robert Whitaker confessed in an essay.

The painting remained untitled until 1980 when a Japanese journalist said she saw the genitals of a woman in it.
The artwork has passed into the hands of many people, fans of the musical group, while now their fan owns it.
