Actor and comedian, Martin Short, 73, has reacted after hints that he is related to Meryl Streep. The actor reacted to the new episode of "Club Random with Bill Maher" and denied the claims.
"We're not a couple, we're just close friends," he said on the podcast, then jokingly added that they're a "power couple." "There is nothing more powerful in Hollywood than a power couple. It has worked for Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman, even for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie."

Rumors of a relationship between Short and Streep began to circulate after people saw the actors getting pretty close at the Golden Globes ceremony. However, a source also confirmed to People that they are just very good friends and nothing more.
Martin Short was married to Nancy Dolman from 1980 until she passed away from cancer in 2010. They have three children together: Katherine Elizabeth, 40, Oliver Patrick, 37, and Henry Hayter, 34.

As for Streep, she and ex-husband Don Gummer separated after 45 years of marriage. "Don Gummer and Meryl Streep have been separated for more than 6 years. They will always care for each other, but have chosen to go their separate ways," a spokesperson for Streep told People.
