People want marriage, that normal couple relationship throughout life, but reality shows that this kind of scenario doesn't always happen. The good thing is that predicting a divorce is possible and supported by scientific research. Researchers have managed to find 9 distinct indicators that can lead a couple to break up.
#1 Number of smiling photos during childhood
Psychologists conducted a series of tests to test whether it is possible to predict divorce from childhood and youth photos. The results show that people who look gloomy in photos get divorced five times more often than those who smile.
#2 Emotional tone of voice
A computer algorithm can predict the success of a marriage, with an accuracy of 79%, using only the tone of voice of the spouses when they communicate with each other. Scientists analyzed the conversations of more than 100 couples. The intensity, vibration of the voice or high tones were indicators of a possible separation.
#3 Colleagues of the opposite sex at work
According to Danish researchers, people who work mainly surrounded by colleagues of the opposite sex divorce 15% more often. They studied all couples who married between 1981 and 2002 in Denmark and found that 100,000 of them had already divorced.
#4 Mom's lectures
It is women who file for divorce more often. Many studies have shown that most couples copy the behavior of their parents, especially their mothers.
#5 Ignoring conflicts
Arguments and quarrels are not always pleasant in a couple, but they help to cope with different events and situations. If one of the partners continues to ignore these situations, the problems will remain unresolved.
#6 Rejection of the partner's friends
Scientists analyzed the relationship of 373 couples, with over 16 years of marriage. It turned out that 46% of couples were divorced in the 16th year of marriage and the partner often criticized the partners' friends, especially the wife's friends. This explains the fact why relationships between women and friends are characterized by emotional closeness and support, while men's friendship more often depends on joint activities.
#7 Excessive feelings
Couples who start a relationship with strong romantic feelings are more likely to break up because they find it very difficult to maintain the same intensity of feelings throughout the years.
#8 Poverty and unemployment
It is very clear that living in difficult conditions is not easy. Relationships in these families are threatened more often than in financially stable families. Reality shows that most divorced men are low income.
#9 Small bed
Spouses should sleep separately or in a very wide bed for the benefit of their mental and physical health. Scientists who study sleep problems have found that 30-40% of couples sleep in different beds. Therefore, if you want to keep your relationship strong, make sure you sleep well.
