In addition to the most appreciated artists and albums at the MTV EMA 2023 awards ceremony, in the list of the best local artists, the "Best Swiss Artist" award went to the Albanian artist, Gjon's Tears.
Gjon's Tears, whose real name is Gjon Muharremaj, was born on June 29, 1998 in Switzerland and represented Switzerland at Eurovision in 2020 with the song "Répondez-moi". He placed third, with 432 points, the best score for Switzerland since 1993.
