If you're ready for beauty sleep, then you should also be ready for the viral TikTok hashtag #PineappleHacks, which has over 3.7 million views. It seems that a little pineapple is enough for a good and restful sleep.

"Pineapple is one of the foods that has a reasonable level of natural melatonin," said sleep therapist Dave Gibson.

Melatonin is a hormone produced by the brain in response to darkness and it helps regulate a person's circadian rhythms within 24 hours.

The therapist says that the melatonin found in pineapples can be released into a person's bloodstream, prompting regulation of the internal clock of the sleep-wake cycle.

In a number of viral posts under the hashtag #PineappleHacks, parents are seen giving their children a slice of pineapple before bed.

"Eat pineapple before bed if you have trouble sleeping," wrote nutritionist Emma Leigh. "Pineapple increases melatonin in the body by 240%, so consuming it before bed helps you fall asleep faster and sleep more deeply."
