For many couples who are in a long-term relationship but don't have children yet, there is one inevitable question that follows them everywhere: "When are you going to have children?"
Friends, family, relatives, neighbors or people you rarely meet in your life often ask this question without any shyness and without thinking about the fact that not all couples want to raise children.
Some partners choose a lifestyle that allows them to be relaxed, free of commitments, free of obligations for children's school bills, clothing, courses, entertainment and a long list of other things with much less cost for the little ones in the family because simply they want to have a life without commitments, which in social networks is otherwise called DINK (double income, not yet kids), i.e. double income, without children. Couples who love this lifestyle feel free, without the need to schedule when they want to go to the gym, dinner with friends, and any other engagement that brings them happiness.
The term DINK is gaining popularity recently in social networks, but it was first used among young people in the 80s.
The couple claim they're in their "DINK era" and as a childless family, they traveled to 10 countries in the last three months of 2022, which they're not sure they could do if they had children.Being a DINK allows couples to travel as often as possible and they can do anything wherever and whenever they want. Another couple, Rosie Piper (@rosie.piper) and her boyfriend like to treat themselves to a variety of delicious meals and snacks throughout the week, and this lifestyle is fearlessly promoted on social media.
Everyone has their own reasons why they may not have children. Whether your reason is financial or just personal, know that you are not alone in your approach to living a DINK lifestyle.
