A two-year-old girl who ran away from her Michigan home with the family's two dogs was found in the woods hours later sleeping on the smaller dog as a fluffy pillow, state police said.
"She laid down and used one of the dogs as a pillow, while the other dog lay down next to her and protected her," Lt. Col. Mark Giannunzio said Thursday (via the Associated Press). "It's a really remarkable story."
Police used drones and dogs to search for her, while citizens from Michigan and Wisconsin helped search for the girl in the wooded area.
Around midnight, a citizen found the girl about 3 miles (4.8 km) from her home, state police said. Her health condition was good.
