International star Jane Birkin has died at the age of 76 at her home in Paris, French media reports.

Jane is known for her career and romantic and sentimental relationship with Serge Gaisnbourg. In the 60s and 70s, Jane was a very famous fashion icon.

Birkin was born in London but became famous for her songs in French after moving to France in the 1970s. She became widely known thanks to her collaboration with Serge, in the song "Je t'aime...moi non plus". The song was recorded in 1968, after they met in the movie "Slogan". Due to the sexual content, the song was banned from the radios of many countries, especially from the Vatican, but it reached the foreign public.

Birkin and Gaisbourg had a 12-year relationship and after the split, they remained friends. Serge, who was 18 years older than Jane, again wrote many songs for her over the years. Their relationship has often been considered toxic and in some fragments, even violent. For this, Jane also wrote in her diary, where she also showed the challenges with Serge's addiction to alcohol.

They also have a daughter, Charlotte, who is a well-known actress and singer.

Before moving to France, Birkin was married to British composer John Barry. Together, they had a daughter, Kate Berry, who died at the age of 46.

Birkin also has a third daughter, model and musician Lou Doillon, from her relationship with Jacques Doillon.

Jane is also known for her role in the movie "Evil Under the Sun".
