The Dior brand has been accused of racism in its latest ad, which features an Asian model winking. Hundreds of social media users commented on the ad, prompting Dior to delete it from Instagram.

The ad was meant to promote the new makeup collection, but people didn't like it at all. Angry comments quickly poured in, with people calling the ad "racially discriminatory."

"Trying to make money and be racist at the same time?", someone else commented.

In other comments, people expressed that Dior should apologize for insulting people of Asian culture, and commented that they were quite disappointed.

The comments come as pulling the eye is an insulting gesture towards the unique appearance of people from Asian countries, especially those from East Asia, and in fact, it is not the first time that Dior has faced such controversy, especially in China.

Even in 2021, in a Dior campaign, some social media users accused the brand of perpetuating the stereotypes that people living in the West have about Asian faces through the photos with which it promoted the campaign. The photographer later apologized.

Again, in 2022, Dior was accused of "appropriating Chinese culture" in the design of a skirt produced by the brand.
