Sex workers in Amsterdam are protesting against city hall plans to close down the centuries-old red light district.
The Red Light District (De Wallen) is a famous destination in Amsterdam, characterized by red lights, which refers to legal prostitution, where many women stand behind the windows waiting for customers.
Sex workers marched through Amsterdam on Thursday to protest plans to move them from the Red Light District to a large "erotic center" on the outskirts of the city.
Wearing masks to hide their identities and waving red umbrellas and banners, dozens of women went to the city hall.

Amsterdam authorities say they want to move sex workers to reduce crime and nuisance behavior in the city.
The municipality has emphasized that the cause of the problem is not the sex workers, but overpopulation from tourists, criminality and other problems. However, they must find a solution.
Residents near Red Lights have long complained about the quality of life in the area, due to the noise of tourists.
