Lisa Loring, the first actress to play Wednesday Addams, has died

Lisa Loring, the actress who played the character of Wednesday Addams in the first adaptation of "The Addams Family" as a series, has passed away at the age of 64 as a result of a stroke.

"She left peacefully holding hands with her two daughters," her daughter told Variety.

Loring played Wednesday Addams from 1964 to 1966 in the first cartoon adaptation of The New Yorker cartoonist Charles Addams, landing the role when she was just five years old.

Her performance greatly influenced the following descriptions of the character. In the latest Netflix series on The Addams Family, Jenna Ortega, the actress who plays Wednesday, thanked Loring when a dance of hers on the show went viral online.

After the success of the role of Wednesday, Loring appeared in productions such as "The Pruitts of Southampton", "The Girl from UNCLE" and "As the World Turns".

In the late 1980s, she worked as a make-up artist on the set of the adult film Traci's Big Trick, where she met her third husband, adult film actor Jerry Butler. Her marriage to Butler was followed by media interest. The couple had a falling out over Loring's dissatisfaction with his continued involvement in the adult film industry. They divorced in 1992.
