FIFA has launched an investigation into how Nusreti, a well-known chef nicknamed Salt Bae, entered the field after the World Cup final in Qatar.
The Turkish chef, who owns a string of Nusr-Et restaurants in cities including London, Dubai and New York, was seen holding, kissing and pretending to sprinkle salt on the World Cup trophy, even interrupting the Argentina players' celebrations after the victory against France.
The trophy is only supposed to be touched or held by a select group of people, including tournament winners and FIFA officials.
Nusreti was also seen trying to catch the attention of Argentina captain Lionel Messi after the match.
FIFA is investigating how he managed to get onto the pitch after the ceremony announcing Argentina as world champions.
Nusret Gökçe went viral on social media in 2017 after a video showed his unique method of preparing steak and tossing salt.
