Argentina's triumphant World Cup-winning team was forced to end its victory parade in Buenos Aires with a helicopter flight after crowds of millions stopped the bus.
The streets of the capital were filled with millions of enthusiastic supporters for the homecoming of Lionel Messi and the team that won on penalties against France in Qatar. But the planned journey was halted before its final destination due to security concerns.
In videos on social networks, fans were seen trying to get close to the footballers by climbing from the back of the bus. One of the fans sat among the passengers on the bus.
Police had to separate people to allow the bus to move on towards the city centre. But in the end they could go no further.
It is reported that 18 people were injured during the celebrations.
The victory on penalties made Argentina world champions for the first time since Maradona lifted the trophy in 1986 and for the third time in total.
