For more than 1 year, the municipality of Ura Vajgurore, Berat has been dealing with the procedures of changing its name. After the completion of this issue, it was decided that soon this municipality will be called Dimal.
The new name, (Dimal) represents one of the oldest civilizations of Albania and such a decision was taken to change the name of the Municipality of Ura Vajgurore to that of Dimal in order to gradually transform this area into a tourist destination.
"We have not less than 1 year since we started the work to change the name of our municipality, ie reorganization without changing borders. By identifying and highlighting all the assets that this territory has, we will develop and network the entire area "The discovery of the ancient city of Dimali awakened the idea of changing the name of the Municipality of Ura Vajgurore to that of Dimali in order to gradually transform it into a tourist destination of this town," said representatives of the municipality.
Most of the townspeople agreed with the decision, but there were also skeptics who were "withdrawn" because of the funding needed for such a change.
