Reason? Bus manufacturers are probably not fans of this aesthetic at all, but choose it for practical reasons. These designs cover stains and dirt more easily.

Imagine how often the seats would have to be washed if, say, they had chosen white. This pattern lets you focus on the design and not the stains.
