3 things that make psoriasis worse and 3 more that make it better

What makes it better?

1. Avoid dry and cold weather

Dry, cold air worsens psoriasis symptoms by making the skin even more dry, red and irritated. Of course, we're not saying to change where you live, but try to protect your skin when you're out and about. Humidity is not on your side. The sun does.

2. Be careful with the products you use

By scrubbing, for example, you make psoriasis worse. Try to apply skin-friendly products; gentle cleansers, body lotions and moisturizers without ingredients that have exfoliating properties.

3. Seek professional help

A specialist doctor will help you keep your symptoms under control and treat the disease properly.

What makes it worse?

1. Stress

We know psoriasis can cause you stress, but don't let it get out of hand. This would worsen the condition of your spots. Any type of stress, be it emotional, mental or physical, contributes to the worsening of symptoms. Whenever you feel that something is wrong, try to go for a walk in nature, meditate or read something.

2. Certain medicines

Some medications can make your current condition worse, so be sure to learn the ingredients and study their effects on psoriasis.

3. Smoking and alcohol

If you drink, your psoriasis symptoms are likely to get worse. They will become even more visible, the skin drier and therefore cause you even more discomfort. Alcohol can also affect the treatment you get for it.
