Jeff Bezos has criticized a university professor who said she hoped Queen Elizabeth II's death was 'torturous'.
The comments came yesterday, September 8, from Dr. Uju Anya, a professor of linguistics and race at Carnegie Mellon University, as the monarch was in her final hours before she died at the age of 96.
The posts of dr. Anya has since been removed for violating Twitter's rules, but Jeff Bezos still reacted against them.
The first post read:
"I hear that the arch-monarch of a genocidal thieving empire is finally dying. May her pain be excruciating."
Bezos commented before the post was deleted, writing:
"This is coming from someone who is supposedly working to make the world a better place. I don't think so. Wow."
Dr. Anya then continued to speak out on Twitter saying:
"If anyone expects me to express anything but contempt for the monarch who oversaw a government that sponsored the genocide that massacred and displaced half my family, the consequences of which people are still experiencing today, you can keep dreaming."
In addition to Jeff Bezos opposing the professor, there is already a petition against her for "ethnic insults", demanding that Anya no longer teach.
