7 ways to tactfully respond to malicious jokes or compliments that embarrass us

Remember: Elegance, tact and class will save you from any situation, so increase your emotional intelligence.

1. Say "Thank you" and see your life

Nothing annoys them more than a calm face. Ignorance hurts, so don't waste energy with people who will never understand.

2. Respond with irony and calmness

It's easy to ask someone not to respond, but there are actually some cases where you'll just get back at them in the same coin. Don't but use intelligence because you are smarter than them right?

Give elegant but venomous answers at the same time. Don't stoop to their level, but give them a good slap through irony for the stupid thing they said.

3. You can accept some of their criticism

Maybe the person in front of you doesn't have the right manner or tact, but his criticisms stand. In this case, ignore his disability and deal with yourself. Is he right about what he is criticizing you for?

4. Take it in stride and don't overthink it

Some people are so negative that they want to hurt you, while others just don't have the right ways to express themselves. Whatever the case may be, you don't necessarily need to be offended. React with humor and don't take them more seriously than they deserve to be taken.

5. Respond immediately if you want to push them a little

It would be a good lesson to see how they would feel. Don't give them time to think, just make them understand so they don't repeat to anyone else what they did to you.

6. Change the topic of the conversation

If someone embarrasses you or says things that make you feel uncomfortable, you can simply change the subject. Talk about other things and take care of your peace of mind by avoiding a possible conflict.

7. Pointing out the insult

Maybe they don't understand their arrogance or they just don't expect you to stand up to them. Do it! Tell them they are rude, arrogant and force them to apologize one way or another.
