If you are planning to move somewhere else to live, the following list will probably help you to make a better decision. Here are the most expensive countries for expats, according to the 2022 Cost of Living Survey, an annual report from consulting firm Mercer.
Hong Kong has been ranked for the fourth time in five years as the world's most expensive country for expats, followed by four Swiss cities: Zurich, Geneva, Basel and Bern.
If you're in Europe and looking for a cheaper city to live in, look east: Ankara is considered one of the most affordable cities for expats.
Denmark's capital Copenhagen is the most expensive city for expats in the Nordic countries, ranking 11th globally, while Sweden's capital Stockholm is more affordable, dropping to 87th in 2022.
