What does a * very close * relationship depend on?

Automatically we think that being related to someone by blood, we should definitely have strong feelings and close relationship with that person. Of course, this is a common case in many families and it is a fantastic occurrence, but there are exceptions. There are people, families who do not feel safe at home and this can be for a variety of reasons: abusive parents, family trauma, or just toxic, cold and arrogant atmosphere. In a case like this, you may love family members in your own way, but that does not mean that you have a close relationship with them.

Close connections require high sensitivity

A relationship translates to the total amount of time you have spent being vulnerable with someone. The more time you spend being open, without trying to use defense mechanisms, the more connected you will feel and the stronger the relationship becomes. This applies to family relationships as well as romantic or social ones.

You can have a blood relationship with someone, but if you share very little of yourself, your truer version does not mean that you have a relationship, much less close. So there is no connection between you nor security. Neither of you will miss it if either of you leaves.

The importance of trust

It is important to know that it is we who decide who will stay in the first row of our lives, in the second, and so on. What the experts recommend is to leave very close to you those with whom you feel most secure, those with whom you are 100% yourself. Just because it's about your sister or parent, they do not necessarily have to be in your front row.

This place belongs to those who have gained the trust, before whom you can breathe freely and willingly. There are very few things that give pleasure in life as it gives you being vulnerable with another human being. This is what makes a connection.
