"Mad Max: Fury Road" triumphed with $ 375 million worldwide and 10 Oscar nominations (with 6 wins), but filming in 2015 seems to have been terrible due to the relationship between Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron .
In the book "Blood, Sweat and Chrome: The Wild and True Story of Mad Max: Fury Road" by Kyle Buchanan, it is written that Theron felt threatened by Hardy, so much so that he sought protection in the shooting.
Speaking with Buchanan, Theron and other team members allege a series of unprofessional behaviors on Hardy's part, including the constant delay that made colleagues wait for hours in the shower.
After Charlize asked him about the delay, Hardy reportedly addressed him, saying, "What did you say?" The book states that the actor addressed Theron in an aggressive manner, as the latter felt threatened and asked someone to accompany him to protect him. The atmosphere on the set could be compared to the days when he goes on vacation, but the parents are busy, it is written in the book.
The relationship between Theron and Hardy seems to have eased somewhat with the progress of the filming and the fact that the couple (Hardy as Max and Theron as Imperator Furiosa) became closer.
Tom Hardy, for his part, acknowledged the abnormal behavior, saying: "I was in a very difficult situation to be understood by others." The actor has agreed that he could have handled the situation better. "The pressure on both of us was tremendous. "What she needed was a better partner, probably more experienced than me."
